Story

We met in Montreal in 2022 at the Triathlon World Championships. After missing the first two team run familiarization sessions Bronwyn made it to the third group run of the day, which happened to be the session Patrick had signed up for. Between the end of the run and the beginning of opening ceremonies we both decided to pick up our race kits and started chatting.

 

As we were both at the event alone, we ended up spending most of the weekend together and experienced an immediate comfort and ease at being around one another. Bronwyn convinced Patrick to come to the next world championships in Abu Dhabi in November and Patrick convinced Bronwyn to sign up for a Half Ironman in Calgary in July.

 

We met at races periodically for a few months until Bronwyn finally moved back to Canada after living abroad for 10 years, and eventually to Winnipeg, but we've talked every day since that first day we met, and haven't run out of things to say yet.
